Wasp Cumbria News Update March 2013

March 25, 2013

Having secured Grant Aid from the ‘Innovation in Business’ scheme for our Tidal Flow System the most important step then was to discuss the development further with LUREG to determine how the project could best proceed within the funds available.

A Team of eight final year Students have now been working on the development since October 2012 as part of their Project work under the guidance of Doctor Stephen Quayle.

This has enabled the next phase, development of a larger scale Prototype, to move forward far quicker than WASP could have achieved without the assistance. In addition areas that would have proved extremely difficult for WASP to resolve have been completed by the Team with specifications, design and detail drawings enabling the order of components necessary for the Trials.

The program is to have the prototype, floatation unit and all necessary equipment available for Trials during May 2013.
